- 1 Corinthians 2:10-12 (NIV)
- These are the things God has revealed to us by His Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.”
Activity
Play 20 Questions together. One person thinks of a visible object in the house and writes it down. Everyone else asks yes-or-no questions to discover the object. Can you name the object in 20 questions? Continue to play as interest allows. What was it like to figure out what people were thinking? Wonder out loud: is it hard to discover what God is thinking?
Sometimes we face big decisions, and it’s hard to know what to do. Share a big decision you’ve made (e.g., moving, accepting a new job or picking a school). Whether it’s a big decision or a smaller one, followers of Jesus seek God’s wisdom.
They know God loves them and wants them to live in His good plan. They trust Him to guide. The good news? God has given the Holy Spirit, who helps us know what to do, no matter how big or small the decision might be.
